For your Word has given me life
I remember the first time I truly realised that the word of God could change my life. I had just graduated from university and my family had travelled to witness and celebrate this significant event with me. I was starting a journey but had no idea where the roads would lead me.
My mum, sensing my anxiety, prayed as she was leaving, and spoke words from Jeremiah 29: 11 over me:
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
I decided to hold on to these words as if God had written them just for me. I grew up knowing God, but this step into a world of uncertainty taught me to cling to His word. It was the only promise I had of a future and I decided to believe it with all my heart.
I am now fully persuaded that His word is indeed truth and light. It gave me strength and the ability to chose life over death.
As I saw His plans for my future unfold, I learnt that no word from God ever fails.
I realized that God’s word was truly THE book of life and I understood why I should never let it depart from my mouth.
My prayer is that this will be a place where Gods word, will light our paths and give us hope. May He lead us in deeper understanding and revelation of his perfect truths.
